Here are a few Frequently Asked Questions

  • When should I start my alterations?

We recommend starting your fittings 2-4 months before the wedding. Shorter time frames can be accommodated for an additional rush fee.

  • What does it cost?

Alterations typically cost between $400 and $600 total including all fitting sessions. Exact pricing is determined at the first fitting where a 50% deposit is due. Remaining balance is due upon completion. All forms of payment are accepted.

  • What should I bring to the fitting?

The only thing you need to bring (besides your dress) to the first fitting are your wedding day shoes.

  • What is a bustle and do I need one?

If you have a train on your dress you will need a bustle. The bustle is a method of pulling up the train so that it is out of the way for the reception. Usually tied up with ribbons or buttons, we try to make the best bustle to go with the dress so that you like it just as much as when the train is down. We usually suggest bringing someone to the final fitting to learn how to do the bustle.

  • What about a veil?

It is great to bring your veil to at least one of the fittings so that you can see it with the dress. If you are doing a hair and makeup trial, we often suggest coordinating a fitting with that so that you are able to see the whole look together. Don’t have a veil? We have a variety of options to choose from and can also make a custom designed veil if you have something specific in mind. Since we make them in house, we can always accommodate rush orders.
