Here are a few Frequently Asked Questions

  • When should I start my alterations?

We recommend starting your fittings 2-4 months before the wedding. Shorter time frames can be accommodated for an additional rush fee.

  • What does it cost?

Bridal Alterations typically cost between $400 and $600 total including all fitting sessions. For menswear, alterations typically cost between $50 to $350 total including all fitting sessions. Exact pricing is determined at the first fitting where a 50% deposit is due. Remaining balance is due upon completion. All forms of payment are accepted.

  • What should I bring to the fitting?

The only thing you need to bring (besides your dress) to the first fitting are your wedding day shoes.

  • What is a bustle and do I need one?

If you have a train on your dress you will need a bustle. The bustle is a method of pulling up the train so that it is out of the way for the reception. Usually tied up with ribbons or buttons, we try to make the best bustle to go with the dress so that you like it just as much as when the train is down. We usually suggest bringing someone to the final fitting to learn how to do the bustle.

  • Do you do emergency onsite alterations?

We understand things happen. Therefore we do offer emergency or onsite alterations within the Charleston Tri-County area. Keep in mind you are required to book up up to 2 hours.

  • What about a veil?

It is great to bring your veil to at least one of the fittings so that you can see it with the dress. If you are doing a hair and makeup trial, we often suggest coordinating a fitting with that so that you are able to see the whole look together. Don’t have a veil? We have a variety of options to choose from and can also make a custom designed veil if you have something specific in mind. Since we make them in house, we can always accommodate rush orders

  • What type of alterations do you offer for men?

We can alter just about anything! From Tailoring, Hems &, Hemming Suit Alteration, Sewing, Button

Replacement, Zipper Replacement, and Repair, Shorten Coats, Waist Tuck, Sleeve adjustment.Let us know

what you need done and we make it work!

  • When a hurricane is coming toward Charleston, does your studio flood? Will my dress be okay?

Yes, our studio floods. We hope for the best, but we always have a plan set that we follow to keep the dresses

safe! We will contact you about picking up your dress to keep it safe during the evacuation. This is preferred,

however, if you are unable to pick it up, Kira will take it to her house to keep safe. We will have a day/time

range for you to stop by and will contact all current brides about it via text. If you reach out to us and don’t

hear back right away, please don’t worry and just wait to hear from us. We are simply putting a plan in place.

Once the commotion is over, we will contact you again about dropping your dress off. Keep in mind we may not

be able to accommodate fittings/drop offs right away if we have to do flood clean up.

  • My wedding is scheduled during a hurricane evacuation! What do I do?

We will work hard to get your dress finished and ready for you to pick up early if need be. Final fittings for

weddings happening during this time WILL take priority over ones that are scheduled further out.

  • I have an appointment scheduled during an evacuation week. What happens now?

For you safety and our staff’s safety, your appointment WILL be cancelled. We apologize in advance for the

inconvenience. We will notify you about it and to reschedule.
